How to hunt for poetry ideas

Writer’s block. You’ve hit a wall and your flow of ideas have stopped. A huge problem, isn’t it. I’m pretty sure writers, and especially poets have experienced it. You never seem to have enough ideas that are creative enough. But here is the solution, here are some tips to get great poetry ideas.

Sit in a silent place. Yes, inspiration can come from noise too but silence is the best medium for thinking. Think about some recent movie you saw or book you read. That’ll pretty much give you some ideas.

Search, no, hunt for inspiration. Look around yourself. Look what people around you are doing. Voila! Idea ready.

Read others poems. That is bound to give you some poetic inspiration. Don’t plagiarize. But just write some poem inspired out of it. This isis definitely foolproof idea I sometimes follow.

The last step. This is the one to try out if you’re totally out of ideas. Just cook up some random ideas into a poem. Pretty cool idea, right. You’ll end up with some cool poem.

And after reading this post, hope you overflow with poems. And stay tuned for a post that’ll soon be posted on poetry prompts.
